TRUE CELEBRATION

TRUE CELEBRATION: Thanksgiving and Christmas walk hand in hand down the path of the economy. It is the busiest time of the year with shoppers purchasing yearly gifts, first time gift, office gift, Felix the Cat a gift, wife a gift, husband a gift, neighbor a gift, and the list continues. All the spending of course, consummates to a small bank roll being expended. Not a bad deal for the big money people who control the businesses that is frequent by the consumer. If there were a gift worthwhile, could it be peace, love or charity? Could those gifts transcend to family, community and the truth of God?...Can we begin with the word LOVE?

THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF BLACK PROMOTERS

THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF BLACK PROMOTERS meeting held at the Hyatt House, College Park, GA on November 18, 2006 gave new definition to the words planning and action. The group that sat on the Panel were heavy hitters in the field of promotions, entertainment and business. Bill Cherry, Maurice Starr, and Arthur Johnson are just a few of the dignitaries that were on hands to discuss the focus topic: How To Reclaim Promotions Involving African American Artist in the multimillion dollar music industry. A lawsuit filed in November 1988 (Rowe Entertainment, Inc., et al vs. The Williams Morris Agency, et al) alleging "violations of antitrust and civil rights laws in connection with the promotion of live concert performances throughout the United States of pop, rock and urban music (contemporary music). The jest of the suit has to do with White Promoters promote successful Black artists, but Black Promoters are not afforded an opportunity to promote successful White artist. The Suit also asserts that because of all-White concert promotion fraternity, the Black concert promoters are systematically excluded from promotion of concerts given by White performers. Certainly the meeting proved informative and ex amplified how stumbling blocks can be removed when unity becomes embedded in a collective effort. Much respect to The National Association of Black Promoters!

GOOD THINGS IN THREES: Delores Thornton, Author of the book, HOW TO SELF PUBLISH THAT GREAT NOVEL WITHOUT GOING NUTS, has been picked up by AMBER BOOKS, and voted Chaplain of the Bible College she attends in Indianapolis, Indiana...But that's only two things. Allow me to dig into Delores Bag of Successes and find the third good thing to happen to her recently...mmmmmmm...OK....Award!!! Delores has received yet another award for her abilities in the literary arts... Congratulations Delores!!...God speed ahead. THUMBS DOWN TO O. J.

THUMB'S DOWN: Will the real Orenthal J. Simpson please sit down! Ten years plus has passed since the murder of two people in California made national and international news. Ronn Goldman, friend of Nicole Simpson, wife of O.J. Simpson, were brutally murdered. As of this writing no suspect aside from O.J. has been found or charged and the crime has been marked COLD CASE in the minds of the public for sure. O.J. was arrested, tried and brilliantly defended by a team of expert attorneys headed up by Attorney Johnny Cochran, now deceased....So what's next for O.J.? His debut book? Don't think so...the title specifically not mention here, in an effort not to assist in promoting a hideous, non consequential subject...year in and year out the public is reminded that man's inhumanity to man is common place...to commercialize on an act of violence's that touched the soul of America is outrageous... A big thumbs down!!!..Who was that mask man?

GOT SCAM?

GOT SCAM? In one scam, crooks copy numbers from gift cards hanging on store racks. After the cards are purchased and activated, buyers use them to shop online by entering the card numbers. So do the thieves. To figure out which cards have been activated, they phone an 800 number to check on balances for card numbers they've copied. When they discover activated cards, they use the card numbers to buy merchandise on a store's Web site, explains Dan Doyle, vice president of loss prevention at Beall's Inc., a Southeastern department-store chain.

A group of intelligent and conscientious Black PalTalk members joined together collectively two years ago to initiate a movement of BUY BLACK. The very realistic idea that African American money need to be recycled back to the community is the focus of the group. Thumbs up to the organizers on PalTalk and let us support the strategies...BUY BLACK. A stop by CHAT IN ACTION a few days ago yielded a meaningful time as the words sent out to the listeners in the room were productive and embracing...thanks for the personal warm embrace given by Spoiler, Goggle Professional, and others!
