New York City. Diverse Artistic Initiative, Inc., a New York area talent agency has announced the penning of a major motion picture deal with their client Patricia Pope and Jowharah Films in Los Angeles.

The film based on the novel COLORED WAITING ROOM, celebrates one woman’s spirit and demonstrates the great depth of the human resolve to face the struggles and challenges for equality and the right to pursue happiness. Ms. Pope’s novel, which takes a poignant look at the tough and very realistic view of the white man’s reality in the Deep South, sets the stage for both an entertaining and an authentic film.

Alberta Graham, the central character, is a top security official in the Cherokee Nuclear Plant in rural east Tennessee. Graham battles against the “good-ole boy network” where she is the only black-woman; fighting for her survival in a male dominated arena. The men in charge (a sociopath Division Chief and Chief of Security a domineering power source) refuse to tolerate having a black female in control particularly when she uncovers corruption, racketeering, murder and deceit in the federal government.

Production on the featured film version of COLORED WAITING ROOM is scheduled to begin the summer 2008 and will be shot entirely on location in Tennessee.

Ms. Pope is a resident of Powder Springs, GA. The novel is available at www.Amazon.com
